about
The Peripheral View (TPV) is a digital archive that dedicates itself to embracing the city as a living stage where socio-cultural, economic and political phenomena come together. This project publishes fictional and non-fictional explorations of urban life, including essays, visual experiments, and narrative fragments. Each format approaches the city from a different angle.
With TPV, I strive to look into topics that go unnoticed and investigate the unspoken life of the city. I dive into the hidden layers of urban existence, from the secret lives of inanimate objects to the social choreographies that shape our daily lives.
if we embrace the city as a stage, does anything actually change?
I personally believe that when we view the city as a living piece of art and a social organism rather than just a machine, we change how we live within it by developing a deeper urban empathy.
This digital archive is an invitation to be more active, caring and critical citizens. That includes encouraging the representation of different cultures and sub cultures throughout and together with the city, as well as encouraging safety, sustainability and freedom of expression.
about the creator (me)
My name is Ralitsa and I am originally from Bulgaria, currently residing in the Netherlands. I recently graduated from Utrecht University with a MA in New Media and Digital Cultures.
During my Bachelor I completed a minor in Creative Cities, where I explored how media, culture, and art shape the identity and daily life of modern urban spaces. I was really drawn into exploring the city as a stage through different forms of media storytelling and content creation.
In the making of this website and its contents I am doing all the activities I have always been passionate of, such as writing fiction, essays and analyses, as well as producing and editing visual assets.
